Party Poker Online

The Current State of PartyPoker

The PartyPoker is the 3rd largest online poker site in the world right now according to Poker scout, coming in just behind iPoker with around a 7 day average of 4000 players online.

The PartyPoker is the 3rd largest online poker site in the world right now according to Poker scout, coming in just behind iPoker with around a 7 day average of 4000 players online. Many players moved to the Party network after Black Friday which saw the down fall of U.S. traffic across Poker Stars, Full Tilt Poker, and the Cereus network. Many of the players who made the switch over to Party were scared that their money would be lost forever and opted to make the transition for financial safety.

The network was historically the largest online poker room, however it fell behind to Stars and Tilt after the UIGEA act, and U.S. players were no longer permitted to play on the site.

Party remains a solid option for any serious player however, with a player based considered one which is marketed heavily towards the recreational and newbie player, using notorious ad campaigns on certain sites which attract a huge amount of traffic from young males if you know what I mean. Regardless, Party offers some attractive reasons for game play, and the typical Party bonus these days is around $500 and clears at a standard rate. Party controversially stopped allowing affiliates to run their own rake races for Party players recently in an attempt to gain more control over their traffic, and that's a real shame for some of the more serious players, many of whom lose out on a ton of value from not being able to gain the rewards of those races. On the bright side it does mean more fish, but we've seen a recent shift in traffic and with the iPoker network securing the number 2 traffic position behind poker stars, perhaps due in large part to the reduction of rewards available for the serious player at Party.

Tony G, the outspoken Lithuanian poker player and business man (who owns PokerNews), is an ambassador for Party Poker and heavily advertises the brand at any live event he's participating through his sometimes obnoxious style, well known to mouth off to anyone he sees fit.

There's no doubt that the Party brand will remain in the gaming industry for years to come, and the recent merger with BWIN should see them on the rise. However, on the poker side of things they seem to be slacking a little bit right now, and I'm not sure the standard Party bonus is quite going to cut it for the serious player out there anymore.

Party Poker?
I've just started playing Party Poker online and I have noticed that I never see anybody from the United States of America on there.... Is it illegal there or something? If so, how long has online gambling been illegal? I live in Canada
